Anaïs Rességuier, PhD Candidate

Anaïs Rességuier is a philosopher conducting research on humanitarianism and on caring and helping practices more generally. She is now finishing her PhD thesis at the Center for Political Research at Sciences Po Paris. Her thesis consists in a philosophical reflection on gestures of care and help with a particular focus on humanitarian practices. It proposes a model to approach these gestures and to avoid the various pitfalls they entail. After a Master (MA) in Philosophy at the Sorbonne University and a Master (MSc) in Forced Migration at the University of Oxford, she worked at the University of Oxford on a research project on Humanitarian Ethics led by Hugo Slim in collaboration with various humanitarian organisations.
