David R Curry, MS
David R. Curry is President and CEO of GE2P2 Global – an integrated not-for-profit foundation [501[c]3] and public benefit corporation advancing scientific rigor, integrity, and ethical resilience in research and evidence generation. In this role, David leads GE2P2 Global’s community of practice with members in 30+ countries in collaborative work across the sciences, the humanities, and the nexus comprising global health, human rights, humanitarian action, education, heritage, development, climate and peace.
GE2P2 Global’s programs and direct interventions across the domains above include publication of a range of weekly and quarterly digests and review publications; response to public consultations, RFIs, and other opportunities to strengthen and refine draft laws, regulations, standards, policies, guidance, and other deliberative processes, and direct advisory support to selected organizations facing complex, real-world ethical, governance, and operational challenges.
David co-founded GE2P2 Global in 2016 as a spin-off of the Division of Medical Ethics in the School of Medicine at New York University [NYU], where he held an associate faculty appointment.
Prior to founding GE2P2 Global, David served as General Secretary for the Hilton Humanitarian Prize Laureates Coalition, formed by prize winners including MSF, IRC, Heifer International, ECPAT, PATH, HelpAge, Humanity & Inclusion, BRAC, IRCT, AMREF, Tostan, and Partners-in-Health [PIH]. The coalition explored collaborative programs in selected such as in Haiti, Senegal, and Nepal.
In 2006, he co-founded the Center for Vaccine Ethics and Policy as a joint program of UPenn School of Medicine’s Center for Bioethics, The Wistar Institute and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to focus on vaccines and immunization strategy, access to medicines, global health governance, and issues of ethics and equity. This Center continues as a Foundation program.
In 2002, he formed davidrcurryAssociates, an intellectual services firm offering advisory support to INGOs, international agencies, governments, civil society organizations (CSOs), academic bodies, and commercial organizations across governance, operations, and program strategy. He continues as its Managing Principal.
Prior to forming davidrcurryAssociates, David served as Vice President, Corporate Public Affairs, Unisys Corporation, the global, $6 billion information technology services firm. He was a member of executive management team for over two decades, leading the company’s public affairs, CSR, and philanthropic functions as part of a broad portfolio that included issues management, speechwriting, and corporate strategy/positioning.
David enjoys a strong record of leadership and governance service with a number of nonprofit organizations including as a trustee of The Franklin Institute Science Museum, board member of UPenn’s International Literary Institute, President Emeritus of the Germantown Cricket Club, board member of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, board member of Arts Midwest, chair of the Arts Foundation of Michigan, and chair of the Michigan Center for the Book, among others.
He is a graduate of the Scientific Honors Program of the University of Detroit Jesuit High School. He holds a BA in Philosophy from the Liberal Arts Honors Program of Wayne State University, and a Master of Science in Information and Library Sciences, also from Wayne [Phi Beta [Kappa].
